There is no way of telling for sure how far-or how long- the present drop in business will go. That depends upon the pricing, spending and saving policies adopted by people and business. It also depends upon the taxing and spending policies over governments-federal, state, and local- follow. And it depends upon the wage policies worked out by business and labor.
Demand for farm products rises and falls as national income rises and falls. But the demand for some farm products has been rising with the income. Meanwhile the demand for other farm products has been falling.
You read of our first tests with APF several months ago. The tests were made under experimental conditions. And APF showed great promise.
Some cattle feeders are interested in using surplus corncobs in the rations of fattening cattle. And cattle fed limited amounts of ground corncobs have made good gains and finished nearly as well as those on full feed grain rations for the same length of time.
A lot of menu-making is done in the "back of the head." Sometimes it's done the day before, while ironing or cleaning, or while taking the youngsters to school. Sometimes it's done as the homemaker walks into the kitchen or views the contents of the refrigerator some 30 or 40 minutes before the meal.
