Iowa State College leads the nation in enrollment of home economics students. There are 433,140 women in the United States majoring in undergraduate home economics; 1,473 are at Iowa State. In addition, 344 men are home economics majors, according to the 1953 fall enrollment data of the Research and Statistical Standards Section of the Office of Education.
