Abstract
This paper is aimed to educate the reader of the uses of fiducial inference in the evaluation of forensic evidence under the specific source setting. This paper features a mathematical proof of the convergence of the generalized fiducial factor to the true likelihood ratio. To accompany the proof, an empirical simulation study is conducted to further demonstrate the paper’s main finding, and highlight some of its practical limitations. The paper concludes by identifying some future directions for research on this topic.
