| dc.description.abstract | <p>On April 22, 1990, citizens from around the world will turn out to celebrate Earth Day and to embark on a new decade of environmentalism. Its precedent, Earth Day 1970, was the largest organized demonstration in human history. This original demonstration sparked some key legislation - the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and helped in the formation of the EPA. Ten thousand schools and two thousand universities participated in the events voicing their concerns for the environment.</p> | |
