Abstract

<p>Stress relief through recreation? The concept may not be new but it did form the basis of a new program at ISU's College of Veterinary Medicine. The Recreation & Stress Relief (RSR) program was developed by Dan Drahos who brought the idea from his undergraduate experiences with the ISU Recreation Services and the National Intramural Recreation Sports Association (NIRSA). While Attending several national and regional NIRSA conferences and spending much time with the "special populations" and "stress management" workshops, the realization of a need for a program such as RSR turned into a proposal to SCAVMA.</p>
