dc.description.abstract |
The goal of this study was to examine whether the association between multiple minority stress and leadership confidence would be moderated by social support and grit. A total of 116 LGBTQ+, ethnic minority identified women completed an online survey. Results indicated a significant three-way interaction of multiple minority stress, grit, and social support on leadership confidence. Specifically, for those with a lower sense of social support, when multiple minority stress was high, more grit was positively associated with more leadership confidence. However, this was not the case when social support was high. In contrast, for those with a stronger sense of social support, the level of grit was not significantly associated with more leadership confidence regardless of whether multiple minority stress was low or high. The findings of this research strengthens the importance of social support for leadership confidence.
| |
