Abstract
The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the experiences and perceptions of women intercollegiate athletic administrators at the National Collegiate Athletic Association. It is the researcher's intention that their experiences and perceptions will provide insight into the reasons for the decline of women administrators in the area of intercollegiate athletics. General research objectives include the following: to describe and analyze the experiences and perceptions of women intercollegiate athletics administrators regarding: (1) lack of mentors/support systems, (2) the impact of Title IX on women athletics, (3) success of the "good old boy" network, (4) lack of qualified women administrators and (5) unconscious discrimination.
