dc.description.abstract <p>With the lack in current research on how people’s attitudes towards law enforcement have changed over time and what caused these changes, I will be putting together a timeline of what the perception of law enforcement was during that time and what events were happening around that time that would have contributed to how the public felt. There are numerous factors that contribute to a person’s beliefs and feelings towards the police that have already been researched, however the highly publicized events being shown on the news or social media at specific points in time and their affect on public opinion towards law enforcement has not been researched. Because there is a lack of research on the specific area I am interested in, I may also have to rely on media outlet archives to determine what stories about law enforcement were predominant in the media at specific points in time as well as other journals and studies that have been conducted.</p>
