The effect of globalization on the United Nations

Abstract

<p>In order to fill the gap between globalization and the future of the UN, this study examines the effects of Globalization on the United Nations. This is a two-part study that first examines the effect of globalization on the state and non-state actors; while the second part examines the impact globalization will have on UN power. 137 countries have been thoroughly examined between the years 1970-2006. The analysis finds that globalization affects the power transfer from states to the non-state actors and will eventually result in an increase in power for the UN and these effects are found to occur on a general level amongst the states.</p>
