COVID-19 vaccine distribution: an intrinsic case study on coordinating vaccination efforts for long-term care facilities

Abstract

<p>The COVID-19 pandemic changed the lives of many, especially those in Long-Term Care Facilities (LTCF). I was fortunate enough to be a part of the coordination process of getting staff and residents of LTCF’s across the state vaccinated during on-site vaccination clinics. This is an intrinsic case study about my coordination position; it explores and analyzes the position but does not build theories or study abstract ideas. This paper discusses COVID-19, the vaccine involved, the distribution process, and some issues I ran into - communication, changes, and reporting - during the coordination process with recommendations on how to ensure smooth and efficient delivery for future vaccination efforts.</p>
