dc.description.abstract
A veterinarian must live. He must feed, clothe and shelter himself. He alone bears the economic responsibility of his dependents. But at the same time his duty is to the community and the people with whom he lives. It is for him to render service in such a manner as to add to the professional status and the dignity of his calling. Often these two factors are divergent, if not actually opposed. The choice was, is, and shall be made many times by many veterinarians. If each veterinarian carries with him an inherent sense of ethics, the profession, and so the individual, shall benefit.
