Corproate environmental strategy and practices: Antecedence and consequences

Abstract

<p>This study examines the antecedents and consequences to environmental practice and strategy and summarizes what constitutes environmental practices. We conducted a survey to study the environmental strategy among manufacturing firms in Iowa and examined the relationship between factors influencing practices and strategies, environmental practices and strategies and corporate performance, which include operational cost, product, and relations. Findings show that environmental strategy and practices do not lead to the reduction of operational cost of firms while supply chain is significant in product marketing. Top management value and public/community exert strong influence on corporate relationship with its stakeholders.</p>
