Abstract
Determining dielectric properties of composites is a difficult problem. While it can yield information regarding structural properties of the composite, methods need to be developed wherein this information can be gathered in a non-invasive manner. Assuming that all measurements are obtained by placing the sample over a ground plane, an appropriate surface integral formulation is derived to compute the field scatted by the object. A computer code that implements this formulation is written and verified by comparing the numerical results against analytical results for canonical geometries. We then use this forward solver iteratively to solve an inverse problem. Finally, a set of numerical results is presented to demonstrate the usefulness of the algorithm.
