From the Greenhouse to My House: Creating the Framework for Increased Family Engagement

Abstract

<p>Living a life of healthy balance is a goal many strive for in the United States. For those who work with youth professionally, or simply care about these young people and their future, assisting children and adolescents in establishing healthy habits is a priority. There is substantial research indicating that three areas critical to healthy living are maintaining a balanced diet, participating in daily exercise, and providing the body with adequate sleep (National Research Council and Institute of Medicine, 2000; Croll, Neumark-Sztainer, & Story, 2001; Trost & Lorinzi, 2008).</p>
