dc.description.abstract This study will help determine if effective teaching techniques and skills (as identified by the 43 CCIM Project competencies) foster student learning in the classroom. New teachers without prior teacher education training instruct classes in Iowa community colleges. With successful completion of courses like the CCIM Project, these new teachers gain exposure to effective teaching skills, which if implemented in the classroom, has been shown in the literature to influence the learning of students in the classroom.
