Abstract

This year, the grounds of the ISU-Vet complex south of the building, have been selected as the site for the Equestrian events in the 1988 Iowa Games. This is the third year for the Iowa Games, Iowa's version of the Summer Olympic games to be held August 6 & 7, 1988. The Iowa Games promote statewide participation in the athletic events seen in the Summer Olympics. This year for the first time there will be Equestrian classes including dressage, hunter/jumper and combination training events. In the future the games plan to include a three day event. The addition of the Equestrian events to the Iowa Games has the goal of promoting horses and horsemanship QS an athletic endeavor in the state ofIowa. It is an honor and a challenge for the Vet school to be chosen as the location.
