Abstract
Both positive and negative enforcement efforts have been suggested for use on increasing traffic law compliance by bicyclists. The presence of a law enforcement element is also believed to dissuade road users from violating traffic laws. The goal of this study is to explore the immediate effects of the presence of a bicycle police patrol unit on the frequency of traffic violations that are committed by bicyclists.
