Abstract
Problem Statement: BioCentury Research Farm does research for the University and many other companies in Iowa.
Some of their research projects involve digital agriculture, biomass, and algae technologies.
Our group is working to improve the thermal efficiency of the BCRF's greenhouse to create a
more reliable facility to save on energy costs. Our goal is to write a standard operating procedure for the
BCRF employees to run an economizer mode through the MicroLogix controller after an actuator has
been installed by the client. The economizer mode will reduce reliance on the geothermal and AC unit
during appropriate conditions.
