Abstract
Most of the research done in this area has focused on the effects of exercise training on cardiovascular function in adults, while very few studies have looked at the effects of an exercise program on blood flow in the youth. Consequently it is uncertain if the very young respond in a similar manner to this process. Accordingly, the purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of a 10 week cardiovascular exercise training program on peak blood flow in children by comparing peak blood flow in exercise-trained muscle to untrained muscle. In this study, the training program was a 10 week soccer season training program.
