dc.description.abstract | I show the errors that can arise when using Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) to determine the best fit function of the initial mass function of planetesimals. I use Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) simulations to avoid these errors. I analyze a data set produced by MCMC and show the complications that can arise when analyzing MCMC data. | |
