dc.description.abstract
...Without a veterinarian, the small veterinary clinic at the Wuchale mission had been conducted by the mission agriculturalist for five years. When he requested the assistance of a veterinarian, I volunteered through the World Brotherhood Exchange, an agency of the Lutheran Council, USA. Knowing the great importance of cattle to Ethiopian farmers and the vast array of cattle diseases in Africa, the assignment was a distinct challenge to me. I was determined to rejuvenate the clinic and to provide whatever moral support and encouragement I could.
