dc.description.abstract <p>This research explores the synthesis and evaluation of new building blocks and polymers for organic photovoltaic materials. Through the development of new synthetic routes and the study of structure-property relationships, new heterocycles and electron-deficient moieties have been created. Strategic substitution of side groups led to improved optical and electronic properties of these materials.</p>
