A study of verb tense problems found in the writings of Malay speakers

Abstract

<p>The purpose of this study is to examine the verb tense problems in the writing of learners of English as a Second Language (ESL). The methodology that will be employed in the study will that of error analysis.</p> <p>Error analysis is a relatively new technique used in the study of second language learning, but it has been proven to be a useful tool for discovering the types of errors made by second language learners and examining the causes of these errors. Analysis of the errors has enabled linguists to study the strategies of learning used by second language learners.</p>
