Abstract
Poverty and homelessness are two large problems in our society that have a direct relationship. Millions of government dollars are spent every year on various programs to assist people in poverty. Many people in poverty find themselves without permanent housing, or housing at all. The objective of this study is to examine the impact of permanent housing on the quality of life of people in poverty. Several sources that have studied both temporary and permanent housing programs, as well as their impacts, will be examined. Additional data will be collected with the help of the Central Iowa Habitat for Humanity. This research will shine a light on the programs and people working to improve the quality of life of those who are living in poverty.
