Abstract
Supply chain management acts as the backbone of a business that links multiple stakeholders together to achieve a common goal. That goal is to use a series of value-added processes to provide a product or service that becomes available for the consumer to purchase. Supply chains have evolved over the years and are now spearheaded by a new software called data analytics. Data analytics enhances the capabilities of the supply chain in ways never thought possible. The focus of this research paper is identified in the following question. How has data analytics impacted industries of supply chain in recent years? To answer this question, the following sections of this research are organized in the following way. The evolution of supply chain will identify how supply chain management has evolved over the years and when data analytics began to improve the capabilities of supply chain management. Following this section will be an overview of both of these business functions to display how they operate and what they bring to the table. This research will conclude by identifying three industries of supply chain management that have been impacted by data analytics in recent years.
