dc.description.abstract
In many places within the U.S. and in other countries, availability of potable water is being threatened because development of new water supplies are not keeping pace with the increasing water demand of industries and municipalities. This limited supply of potable water may potentially stall economic growth and may be available only in restricted amounts for many other uses (Field and Fan, 1996). In the years ahead, the situation will require creative solutions, new technologies and imaginative approaches to water resources management. One approach that may be used is water reclamation through the reuse of stormwater.
