Abstract
Tucked away in the bowels of Iowa State University's Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences is the office of Dr. Michael Apley, one of the new faculty members. From his office he has unleashed new ideas and opportunities benefiting the veterinary students, such as new concepts in antimicrobial therapy for juniors, beef production medicine for seniors and presentations for veterinary clubs and organizations. Dr. Apley, an assistant professor in beef production medicine, was employed under the Healthy Livestock Initiative, an effort by the veterinary college to enhance the large animal production medicine program.
