Abstract

In one of the most widely anticipated cases in judicial history, the United States Supreme Court on June 28, 2012 decided National Federation of Independent Business et al. v. Sebelius1 which held the 2010 Act2 mostly constitutional. One of the major surprises was that Chief Justice John Roberts, a staunch conservative, wrote the majority opinion and joined the four liberal members of the court in upholding all but one part of the 2010 law.
