Abstract
This project was carried out in the Department of Veterinary Anatomy, Division of Veterinary Medicine, Iowa State College, Ames, Iowa, during the years 195354. The purpose in developing this technique was to provide demonstration material for the neuroanatomy courses offered to the veterinary students and to graduate students in other fields. Experience in the past showed that brain slices prepared and preserved in 10 per cent formalin were too fragile for routine use in the classroom. It was also difficult to see many of the structures after the sections had been preserved for some time.
