Abstract

Falconry is the art of training hawks, falcons, and eagles to pursue and capture wild game. It is perhaps the oldest field sport; in fact it was one of the ways of procuring meat for the table before firearms were developed. During the first half of this century this ancient sport has increased in popularity. This is probably due to the rising standard of living and subsequent increase in leisure time.
