An 18-month-old, Gelbvieh bull was presented for evaluation of lameness of the left hind leg. The lameness had been first noted 2 weeks previously. At physical examination swelling of the medial digit of the left hind foot was noted. A focal region of granulation tissue was found at the margin of the sole in the heel region of this digit. Radiographs of the foot were taken for bone and joint evaluation.
