Past experience isn't always the best guide to the future. But here's an indication of how different types of farms fared in 1955. A more complete summary of the 1955 farm record analysis will be published in the near future.
Miracle fibers from the test tube- that's what the ads say. And in lots of ways, the new fibers do perform miraculously. The names are familiar- nylon, Dacron, Orlon, Acrilan, Dynel, Arnel. Add to these the resin-treated cottons and rayon. For through this treatment, these old fibers have been given a new behavior pattern.
With the approach of summer, we've ased Prof. John F. Sandfort, of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Iowa State College, to answer some of the questions most frequently asked about home air conditioning.
Business activity leveled out during the late winter. Automobile output and housing lost ground. But this was offset by higher spending by business for new investment in plant and equipment.
