dc.description.abstract | <p>One of the foundational elements of an integrated pest management program is correct identification of potential pest species. This presentation will provide participants an opportunity to test their identification skills in the arena of insect identification. The six most common caterpillar species (Order Lepidoptera) that attack mid- to late-vegetative stage or reproductive stage corn plants will be presented in a multiple-choice format. Circle the correct letter for each caterpillar photograph shown in the PowerPoint presentation. The key identifying characteristics for larvae in the mid to late instars are listed below for each of the correct species.</p> | |
