Fifty Years Of Progress In American Silviculture

Abstract

<p>In spite of numerous unfavorable factors, silviculture has made notable progress during the fifty years that it has been applied in the United States. Although some silviculture was practiced more than fifty years ago, it was not until nearly the turn of the Twentieth Century that conscious efforts were made to produce or perpetuate timber on moderate areas of land.</p>
