dc.description.abstract Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all courses at Iowa State University shifted online in March 2020. This chapter recounts the author’s successful transformation of two courses from flipped/blended format to fully online format and gives suggestions for effective online teaching in the future. The chapter examines (1) the original flipped/blended courses, giving a background for the transition and the online design; (2) the transition and integration process, outlining the approaches, activities, and/or technologies that were less effective and how those issues were addressed; (3) student feedback, collected through Zoom interviews with each student in the classes, regarding their overall impression of course components; and (4) effective strategies suggested for course design of future fully online courses, based on the author’s experience and students’ feedback.
