dc.description.abstract Since the Madero presidency, Venezuela has fallen into humanitarian crisis after crisis and the nation has turned for help to nations that are willing to assist. Because of the democratic inclination to avoid supporting tyrannical regimes, Venezuela has found refuge with authoritarian regimes. The most prominent relationship being with Russia. History has shown how Russian assistance as self-interested and Venezuela is no exception. This project will illustrate the bilateral relationship as a parasitic necessity and its implication of worries on international security.
