Abstract

A 5-year-old horse was admitted to the Stange Memorial Clinic in spring of 1945. The horse showed marked enlargement and distention of the tortuous superficial veins on the lateral side of the foreleg in the region of the elbow joint. The horse did not show any pain or loss of function of the leg. There was no history of injury to the leg except that the condition came on gradually and seemed to be progressing.
