dc.description.abstract <p>Corn is one of the chief crops of the Iowa farmer. In point of importance it is exceeded in value only by the hay crop, thus the tenth United States census records the yield of corn for Iowa at 275,014,247 bushels, and the eleventh census gives the yield of corn for Iowa at 313,130,782 bushels. Mr. Sage, of the Iowa Weather Service, reports the total yield of corn for Iowa in 1895 at 313,092,210 bushels, having a value of $43,916,909.40, and that last year’s hay and pasturage was valued at $57,866.480.</p>
