Abstract
As a result of inefficient recordkeeping and housekeeping, Todd & Sargent's Safety Department is overspending on basic safety inventory and PPE.
Problem Statement:
Todd & Sargent is a provider of custom designs, engineering, and construction solutions. They have more than 80 years of experience and have lacked a consistent safety inventory management training program.
Too much money is spent on personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety inventory, resulting in inefficient housekeeping and inventory management.
Long term, the safety department at Todd & Sargent cannot afford to overspend each year on basic PPE. The cost and lifetime value of the PPE and inventory handed out by the safety department should last longer than the field employees are making it last. That excess money being overspent on basic safety inventory could be better used elsewhere within the safety department.
