Abstract

Modern medicine has created more and greater demands on the basic sciences of the profession of veterinary medicine. Because of careful planning by such men as Dr. Robert Getty, Head and Professor of Veterinary Anatomy at Iowa State University, anatomy has evolved from the detailed study of osteology and muscle attachment to the more practical aspect of fundamental anatomy. The year 1961 marks the tenth year Dr. Getty has directed the department of anatomy.
