Abstract
Firms of varying sizes and experiences are located at the Iowa State University Research Park. For over 25 years, the ISU Research Park has provided space and resources to firms and served as the location where both start-ups and expanding businesses can interact with one another. This project aims to analyze the ISU Research Park tenants in terms of their survival, growth, and employment generation. This analysis allows for an assessment on the impact that the ISU Research Park has had on the local community as well as the factors affecting the success of tenants within the ISU Research Park. Further, this project analyzes the relationship between firms within an agglomeration economy and the varying networking effects that arise among different sized firms. This project utilizes data that was collected through a survey filled by current and former tenants of the ISU Research Park, as well as employment records. The survey informed us on the factors that affected the success of Research Park tenants, as well as the benefits firms see from interacting with other different sized firms
