Abstract
In this session of Metadata Matters, attendees will gain an overview of how metadata is created for the digital objects available in the library’s digital collections (Islandora and Aviary platforms). The Metadata Creation Team within Metadata Services will cover the metadata creation process and how it differs from traditional, MARC-based cataloging. They also will describe how they prepare created metadata for bulk ingests and the steps they take to ensure metadata quality.
