Advancing Textiles and Apparel Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: A Call for Teaching Materials

Abstract

<p>Submitting to the ITAA Teaching Collection not only advances the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in the field of textiles and apparel, but also provides materials that benefit other faculty and students; new faculty and graduate students are especially benefitted. For example, since the Collection is under Creative Commons licensing, all materials are freely available for ITAA members to use, without prior permission, so long as the terms of the appropriate Creative Commons license are adhered to. Therefore, graduate students can use the resources to prepare for their future career in academia. While the benefits of the Collection are extensive, the number of submissions are limited each year. This issue requires action. Hence, ITAA members need to be reminded of the importance of the knowledge sharing, opportunity to enhance teaching and learning as a whole, and the purpose of the Collection. Additionally, understanding the purpose and benefits of the Collection will encourage ITAA members to utilize the resources more.</p>
