This publication examines the cost of Iowa’s public schools. The most important issue developed is the estimated cost of public education in Iowa in 1970-71. Also, public expenditures on elementary and secondary schools in Iowa are compared with expenditures in several other states. In addition, the structure of costs in Iowa’s public elementary and secondary schools in 1961-62 is considered.
