Abstract
This research paper is an analysis of the student learning outcomes of a short-term study abroad program to Sweden at Iowa State University. The analysis is based on a survey of eleven participants who visited Sweden through the Iowa State Leadership Studies Program. The analysis presents a brief background of the Leadership Studies Program and my personal experiences with the program. This paper will also discuss the Leadership Studies study abroad program to Sweden and personal experiences while studying in Sweden. The results of the survey show students’ thoughts, perspectives and opinions of participating in the Leadership Studies short-term study abroad program to Sweden. Overall, the results show that the program is very beneficial to students’ leadership skills and helping them become more well-rounded individuals. Approximately 91% of the students surveyed reported that they would recommend a peer to participate in the program, which is evident by the data that was collected from students.
