dc.description.abstract
Throughout my years at Iowa State, I got to study Design and Chinese language and culture. I wanted to honor these classes and share the talents I am still developing years later by combining them—“May Your Wish Come True” is a very short story, illustrated with traditional watercolor paints and digitally edited with Adobe software, told in both Chinese calligraphy and English text for readers and audiences of both cultures. It’s a twist on a common folklore story, involving the Chinese Zodiac and why the cat is not included. After editing illustrations and content, the book was printed out and bound together to be fully presentable as a picture book.
