Equity in Project Design and Data Collection

Abstract

Despite the fact that data are often seen as objective, there are many times in a research or assessment project when we can introduce bias. This session will begin with project design and help participants identify places in their project design process where they might be unintentionally introducing bias. We will then think through the data collection process to identify more areas to consider before starting a project to do the best job we can at mitigating bias.
