Dear Alumni: For the past two years I have been hoping to have issued by the department all alumni newsletter in which I could tell you something about the department and the college. Because of the press of other duties this newsletter has never materialized. Therefore. I am grateful to the Editor of the 1950 Ames Forester who has asked me to give him something which could be published in the Forester addressed particularly to the alumni.
