Abstract
The goal of this project was to spread awareness of endangered Iowa prairie species by connecting them to people through the medium of embroidery. Nine species including five plants and four animals were chosen and studied, then embroidered. The process was documented in the booklet for those who would want to replicate it, and alongside how to stitch each species was information about its life history, what role it played in the ecosystem, and major conservation concerns. I also went beyond the project itself and provided additional resources for those interested in conservation. The nine species featured are Mead's Milkweed, Swamp Loosestrife, Bigroot Prickly Pear, Eastern Prairie Fringed Orchid, Hidden Spikemoss, Rusty Patched Bumblebee, Wood Turtle, Dakota Skipper, and Indiana Bat.
