Congressional Research Service Report to Congress on CRP Is Incomplete and Misleading

Abstract

<p>On April 10, 2008, the Congressional Research Service released a report to Congress<strong>1 </strong>on the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP)<strong>2 </strong>which does not recognize the key issues in the controversy<strong>3 </strong>and which is both incomplete and misleading. Inasmuch as the Congressional Research Service was set up as the research arm of Congress, the contents of the report, coming at a crucial time when the 2008 farm bill, H.R. 2419, is in conference committee, are particularly important.</p>
